The Spring Quarter (March–May 2022) examines the nature of God through the lenses of liberation and Christian freedom. God’s deliverance is experienced in the story of the Passover and in the good news of Easter. Unit I, “Liberating Passover,” has four lessons exploring the liberating event of the Exodus. The Passover liturgy relives the memory of the Exodus and cultivates a desire for restoration and liberation. Unit II, “Liberating Gospels,” uses four lessons to explore the liberating freedom from Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem through his death and resurrection. Unit III, “Liberating Letters,” presents five lessons based on the letters to the Romans and Galatians that explore a Christian understanding of the radical nature of Christian freedom. The fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5) is the focus of the final lesson.
