This spring quarter takes us from Transfiguration Sunday through Eastertide. With the light from Jesus on the mountaintop and God’s voice saying “Listen to him,” we move into Lent. We listen to Jesus through parables of the good neighbor, mustard seed, and yeast, a party where everyone is welcome, and what it means to be found. Light diminishes each week as some seek to put out the light of Christ. We know we can’t leap from a parade to an empty tomb. Jesus is crucified. But light breaks forth on Easter. Through Luke’s story, we rejoice with Mary and the disciples that morn and on a road to Emmaus. Stories of a forgiven woman, Martha and Mary, ten people healed, and Zacchaeus express gratitude for God’s grace and love.
