This summer we will explore what is NEW, or was NEW at the time, fifty-some days and counting after the devastating death of Jesus and his miraculous resurrection, which would set in motion all things NEW. We begin with a NEW disciple, a desire to continue the leadership Jesus had formed in choosing twelve to teach and prepare for a whole NEW world. There had been no precedent to guide them but the customs they knew—discernment, prayer, and trust that God would direct them. With the rush of a mighty wind and flames igniting the spirits of the followers of Jesus, life was breathed into a NEW church. Learn about Peter, John, Lydia, Paul and others as they worked to spread the message to everyone that Jesus provides NEW life. Good NEWs indeed!
Series DescriptionGrowing in Grace & Gratitude is our quarterly denominational curriculum for children ages 3–10. Children see God’s grace in the biblical narrative and in our world today. The curriculum provides age appropriate opportunities for responses of gratitude through claiming, celebrating, praying and offering. There is diversity in learning as well as support for leaders to adapt lessons for children with special needs. Coloring illustrations accompany each Bible story to engage children visually. Each session will embrace children in the grace of God through engagement with the Bible that echoes reformed worship: gathering in God’s grace, responding in gratitude, and loving and serving God.
