Fall 2022 examines Old Testament stories that reflect worship—ways we come before God in worship and ways in which God meets us, calls us, and sends us. Beginning with Genesis 1 and continuing through the story of Moses we celebrate that God created us for good and recognize that God calls us by name. Learn about Joshua leading the Israelites into the promise land carrying God’s Word with them. Through this and the stories of Ruth and David we see that God’s people have the opportunity to dedicate themselves to following God. Then we look at confession and repentance through the stories of Jonah and Micah. The final section of this quarter leads us into Advent with the voice of Isaiah sharing a message of hope and light for those who walk in darkness.
Series DescriptionGrowing in Grace & Gratitude is our quarterly denominational curriculum for children ages 3–10. Children see God’s grace in the biblical narrative and in our world today. The curriculum provides age appropriate opportunities for responses of gratitude through claiming, celebrating, praying and offering. There is diversity in learning as well as support for leaders to adapt lessons for children with special needs. Coloring illustrations accompany each Bible story to engage children visually. Each session will embrace children in the grace of God through engagement with the Bible that echoes reformed worship: gathering in God’s grace, responding in gratitude, and loving and serving God.
