Do Justice
Most humans are born with an innate, general sense of right and wrong. Young children can give a detailed explanation of justice through the eyes of the victim when they feel they have been wronged. In the Do Justice unit, we learn that we are not always correct in our assessments, but the desire for fairness in the world around us is deeply held. Being human means, in part, experiencing the frustration and anger of injustice, and the sense of restoration and wholeness that comes with justice served.
Through this practice, participants will find that Scripture is filled with the themes of liberating justice in ways that are bold and ways that are subtle, always returning to the need to bridge the gap between the world as it is and the world toward which God calls us. So that we may do justice in our lives, this practice explores seeing injustice, checking our own prejudice, speaking up, and doing the work that justice requires.
Multiage Children Leader's Guide
This leader’s guide is for children ages 6–10. It contains helpful information for the leader, including information about children, background information about the practice, a note about supplies, and other helpful information for each session. There are symbols for each activity within the session that allow a leader to see at a glance the type of activity and customize each session for their group of children. Each session includes resource pages and “Practicing the Practice at Home,” which may be copied, printed, or sent out electronically to participants. Series Description
Follow Me: Biblical Practices for Faithful Living is a twenty-seven-unit curriculum based on practices Jesus did and taught us to do as faithful followers. Written for people of all ages who wish to live out their faith, this new curriculum examines where these practices are found in the Bible and how they have been used in Christian faith then and now.
