Product Overview
The fourth section of the Book of Order is the Rules of Discipline. The Reformed tradition believes discipline is necessary because of the reality of sin and our human tendency to stray from God's goodness, and the church exercises discipline in order to preserve the peace, unity, and purity of the church. "Rules of Discipline from the Book of Order," by teaching elder and pastor Brian Ellison, reviews this section of the Book of Order and the ways that councils may be called to serve as judicial bodies. Questions for reflection and discussion are also included. This study might be used in a training session for those serving on councils regarding the Book of Order or as a resource for interested leaders.
