Awakening a sense of mission in our children | General Assembly
Presbyterian congregations around the country are doing wonderful and innovative work to instill a Christlike passion for justice in our youth. By talking honestly with children about the pressing moral and ethical issues of our day — poverty, the racial divide, gun violence and many others — and encouraging hands-on personal involvement in meaningful ways, churches are helping children, from tots to teens, begin to dedicate themselves to a life of service and mission.
This issue also takes us to St. Louis, the venue for the 223rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), where the Holy Spirit is already hard at work.
