스가랴서에는 죄악된 역사를 반복하고 있는 이스라엘 백성들을 향해 하나님께서 어떤 마음을 갖고 계시며, 또한 어떤 미래를 꿈꾸고 계신지가 잘 기록되어 있다. 소망으로 가득 찬 가까운 미래와 먼 미래에 대한 예언적 말씀이 뒤죽박죽 섞여 있고 여러 환상들로 되어 있어서 이해하는 것이 쉽지 않지만, 스가랴서는 현대 교회들이 꼭 읽고 묵상하고 이해해야 하는 매우 중요한 말씀들을 담고 있다. 우리도 예루살렘에 귀환했던 이스라엘 백성들과 같이 죄악된 과거의 역사를 반복하고 있기 때문이다.

Prepare for the Day of the Lord!
The book of Zechariah outlines what God is thinking about, and what kind of future He is dreaming for the Israelites who seem to be repeating their sinful story. This is not an easy book to understand because the near future filled with hope and the prophetic words about a future that seems far away are mixed up, and many visions are featured. However, we must read, meditate, and understand this book because we, as the Israelites who had returned from Babylon, are also repeating a sinful story as the church.
