Product Overview
Paul's letter to the Colossians was prompted by the controversy over false teachings by a group within Colossae who believed that Christ was but one source of divine wisdom and that his death on the cross was not sufficient to reconcile humanity to God.
In this two-session Bible study, participants will first gain an initial perspective of Paul's letter and consider its application for Christian communities today. Building on that understanding, participants will explore the role of baptism as the beginning of a new life in Jesus Christ in session two.
Incorporating both small and large group activities and discussions to encourage the greatest level of participation, this study addresses the key themes of Paul's letter such as God's revelation in Christ, the atoning work of Christ on the cross, and spiritual freedom. This study will challenge the participants to consider how they transform our social relationships and magnify our social responsibilities while also allowing them to closely examine part of the New Testament.
