Product Overview
Kids are told by everyone from professional athletes to Paris Hilton that if they eat a particular food, they will be more popular, happier, sexier, and more fulfilled. Food, they say, is a statement, a lifestyle choice, not something to give you strength, energy, and health. As a result, more people than ever suffer from eating disorders, obesity, high cholesterol, food allergies, vitamin deficiency, and other problems associated with unhealthy eating habits. Doctors and educators are trying to counteract that advertising by promoting the USDA's new food pyramid and healthy eating habits, both at home and at school.
This one-session study invites participants to name their favorite foods, look at the new food pyramid, and consider just how healthy the foods they love actually are. We'll look at our emotional and spiritual connection to food and then consider a few practical changes in eating that we can each make.
