Digital Products

How do I download digital resources?

When you have completed the checkout process you will be on the Order Confirmation page. The easiest way to download your purchased products immediately is to go to your Orders & Profile page. You must be signed in. Click on your username in the right corner of the screen to access your Orders & Profile page, then click on the Digital Product Downloads section and then click on the title of the resource you want to download. This will take you to the product page for that resource where you will be given the option to download using a PC or a MAC. If you want to come back and download at another time, simply sign in and follow these same steps.

If using a PC with Windows

Once you click Download PC, a dialog box will open asking you what you want to do with the file. Depending on your Web browser and the version of Windows you are using, it will give you the options to Open, Run, Save, Save As, or Cancel.

If you click Run or Open, you will then be asked where you want to save the file. The default location will be your desktop. Use the Browse function to change the location, and then click OK. The file will unzip and open automatically in that location.

If you choose Save or Save As, a box will open asking you to choose the location to save the file. Using the Save In arrow, select a folder, such as My Downloads or My Documents, and then click Save. Open the folder where you saved the file, and double-click on the file. It will "open" from that location.

Important note: Be sure you remember where you saved the file and what it is named! That will make it much easier to locate it later, and will prevent you from having to download it again. Also, please do not rename the file until you have successfully downloaded it to your computer.

If using a Macintosh with OSX

Once you click Download MAC, a DMG file will be placed on your desktop. If it does not launch automatically, double-click it. This will mount a volume containing the files for the chosen curriculum. This volume acts as a folder. You can discard the DMG file, but do not throw away the volume containing your PDFs.

Important note: Be sure you remember where you saved the file and what it is named! That will make it much easier to locate it later, and will prevent you from having to download it again. Also, please do not rename the file until you have successfully downloaded it to your computer.

What should I do if I lose a study that I have already purchased?

Sign in. Click on your linked username in the top right corner of the page. This will take you to your profile page. Scroll down the page until you see the "Digital Product Downloads" section near the bottom of the page. Open this section by clicking on the plus sign (+). Click on the linked title of the study that you want to download. This will take you to the product page, where you can download the product using the links in the box located under the price on the right side of the page. Once a study is purchased, you own it and never need to pay for it again.

Can I make photocopies for my friend in another church, or e-mail the studies for them to use in their classes?

No. Individuals and churches are given permission to make photocopies of studies they download for use in a single class or to e-mail student handouts to class participants. Permission is not granted for distribution of these studies outside of your congregation. Those who distribute copyrighted materials from this Web site are in violation of these policies, and in violation of U.S. copyright laws, will have their access to the site revoked.

Are digital products able to be returned?

The curriculum is released seasonally, with seasons beginning in September, December, March, and June. Each season of material will be available on the web approximately 2-3 months prior to the beginning of each season. The purchaser of the curriculum, the Curriculum Coordinator, will be emailed once the curriculum product has been updated with the new season of material, and the curriculum resources can be downloaded from the "My Products" page of the site. The materials can be downloaded by the Curriculum Coordinator or any of the added users on the account.

What is the Music CD?

The Music CD contains music to accompany all of the children's age levels for an entire year. It has 25 tracks, and is to be used occasionally as the lesson recommends.

How can I find out what the lectionary passages are for each week of the curriculum?

The lectionary passages used for each week are available in the Scope and Sequence page on the Curriculum part of the site.

Can I make photocopies of the curriculum for my friend in another church, or e-mail the curriculum resources to someone else for their use?

No. Individuals and churches are given permission to make photocopies of curriculum they purchase for use in a single class of up to ten participants. Permission is not granted for distribution of these resources outside of your congregation. Those who distribute copyrighted materials from this Web site are in violation of these policies, and in violation of U.S. copyright laws, will have their access to the site revoked.

Can we reuse the curriculum each time the lectionary year repeats?

The curriculum is available for a one-year license, and cannot be reused each time the lectionary year repeats.

The Presbyterian Hymnal Online

What features does the online hymnal include?

The online hymnal is for pastors and worship planners to use with Glory to God in planning worship. It allows you to search through all the indexes of the hymnal and view hymns categorized by lectionary day, Scripture, and topic. It also includes all of the liturgical resources from the pew edition of the hymnal and allows you to download the services of worship to include in your bulletin or other worship planning tools. You can browse through the hymnal digitally, listen to audio samples of the hymns, and download PDFs of the hymns (additional rights may be required to use the PDFs; the hymn page provides this information).

The online hymnal also allows you to share information with your entire worship team. You can save notes about hymns, dates you used particular hymns, and categorize hymns as favorites to organize how you use the hymnal. You can have a total of 5 people on the same church account.

Does the online hymnal include an accompaniment track for each hymn?

Audio tracks are included for listening and identifying the music, but not for singing or using as an accompaniment. They are midi-generated files.

Do the downloadable hymn files include words and music?

Yes. For each hymn you can download a PDF file with words and music. The hymn page will designate what rights are included for that hymn or if additional rights are needed to use the PDF.

If my church has purchased the pew edition, do we have rights to use hymn files from the online hymnal for printing, projection, or reproducing?

No. Purchase of the pew edition only affords churches the right to sing from the pew edition. Copyright holders who allowed inclusion of their work in Glory to God granted specific rights for each edition of the hymnal. See our Rights and Permissions page for more information.

Once I purchase the online edition, do I need an additional license to download, make copies, or insert hymns in a bulletin?

Possibly. It depends on the permissions for the hymn. Copyright information is included on each of the hymn detail pages of the online hymnal, including whether printing text or music for that hymn is allowed or if additional permissions (or a license) are needed.

For churches that plan to download, copy or reprint words or music, or display hymns or lyrics frequently, we recommend the purchase of a copyright license from companies such as CCLI, OneLicense.net, and LicenSing. They help streamline the rights process by offering licenses that cover many hymns and songs.

How many people at a church can use the account for the online hymnal?

Up to five people at the same church can access the online hymnal. Each individual will need to be added by the main account purchaser who initially purchased the online hymnal on PCUSAStore.com.

To add users to the church account, the main account purchaser will need to login at www.PCUSAStore.com and click on their username at the top right of the screen. This will show a "User Profile" page. From this page select "Manage Users." You can enter up to four additional users from this page by entering their first and last name and their email address. Do not add yourself from this page; only add additional users from your church.

Is the online hymnal a subscription or an annual fee?

No. The online hymnal is a one-time charge, and discounts are offered if your church also adopts the pew edition. Your account will not expire and no annual renewal is needed. There may be a fee if substantial upgrades are offered in the future. There will never be a charge for upgrades that fix functionality issues, but there may be one if substantial new features or content is offered in the online hymnal.

Can I project from the online hymnal?

The online hymnal is not intended to be used for projection. There is a projection edition of the hymnal available for purchase.
